There were celebrations yesterday at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre, when the Flames made it to the group phase of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers following a McDonald Harawa-inspired 4-3 victory over Benin on post-match penalties in the second leg of the preliminary round qualifiers.
The Flames won the match 1-0 in regulation time through Christopher John Banda’s overhead kick in the 13th minute of the first half, tying the sides at one-all on aggregate after Benin’s first leg win a fortnight ago.
