Inkosi ya Makhosi M'Mbelwa IV has died
Inkosi ya Makhosi M'Mbelwa IV of the Ngoni people in Mzimba has passed away today.
The controversial ngoni chief who has been at the centre of politics as well as cultural affairs in the country since the new multi-party dispensation was admitted last week to the Kamuzu Central Hospital.
He was later transferred to the private Mwaiwathu hospital in Blantyre.
M'Mbelwa, who was born Zwangendaba Jere on August, 15 1954 and was installed as Paramount Chief in 1984, is survived by a wife and four children.
The body of the Ngoni Chief, Inkosi ya Makosi M'Mbelwa will be ferried to Lilongwe Tuesday afternoon at 1700hrs.
Reports say the body will lie in state at Mtunthama State Residences in the Capital City, before being taken to Mzimba for burial at a date yet to be announced.
